The types of MBA at Imperial

The Imperial MBA

The Imperial MBA programme content has been chosen and structured to ensure it is rigorous and comprehensive. You begin with theory and then spend much of the programme applying that theory in practical exercises - this is the most effective form of learning.

  • Core Courses - ensure you have an in-depth understanding of the essential business disciplines. You build on previous experience and acquire new knowledge and practical skills in accounting, economics, finance, marketing, organisational behaviour and strategy.
  • The Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Design (IED) - course is a collaboration between Imperial College Business School, Imperial Innovations Group plc and the Royal College of Art (RCA). The IED course goes beyond lectures, to offer you a real entrepreneurial journey during which you take an innovative idea and turn it into a marketable product.
  • Electives - these courses provide you with the opportunity to specialise in an area of particular interest or to explore new avenues. As an Imperial MBA student, you undertake six.
  • Project - putting into practice the theory taught on the MBA, this project allows you to develop specialised expertise by researching a real business issue.
  • Optional elements - the programme also offers a number of optional elements to ensure you make the most of your time at Imperial. These include: Adjunct Professor Master classes & Industry sector clubs
