About IE Business School

IE Business School gives it's students a broad business grounding, covering 10 core subjects in finance and business management. However, it's through the extensive list of elective and exchange options that IE students are able to personalize their education and hone skills by selecting one/two of those core subjects to delve into more detail.

To help students settle in and adjust to their new surroundings IE has dedicated a week before the start of the timetable for 'orienteering'. Just like 'Freshers' week at undergrad it serves a valuable purpose to allow people to make friends and explore.

Business School supports the students with entrepreneurial ideas. 'Venture Lab' is a concept unique to IE, in this final project option (accompanying the entrepreneurial elective), you and your fellow students may develop a business idea. The project culminates when the business plans are evaluated by a board of investors. This presentation then counts as your final exam.

The number of international students choosing to study at IE Business School is well above average. Every MBA student graduating from IE leaves with more than just an MBA qualification to add to their bulging CV's...a new global network; an experience; a new language; perhaps even a funded business idea and of course not forgetting a local knowledge of Madrid.

IE Business School International MBA Program (Full-Time, English &/or Spanish, 13 months)

  • IE's International MBA lasts 13 months to minimize time away from your professional career and offers you more than just the average MBA. In addition to the strong academic core, there are many additional ways to enhance and personalize your experience in a truly international environment.
  • IE Business School's International MBA does not require any specific prior experience in the areas covered as subjects are introduced progressively so as to accommodate students from varying academic backgrounds. The top three professional background sectors of IE students are: Industry, Energy & Construction (20%); Consulting (18%); Financial services & Banking (18%). IE Business School employs the case method, as well as other techniques in its training, providing hands-on experience in real life cases.
  • The International MBA offers a host of options which allow you to personalize your MBA to maximize its benefit to you based on your interests, needs, and aspirations. The options are fully outlined in the IMBA+. The International MBA offers short and long exchange programs, a large selection of elective options, language options, as well as entrepreneurial projects with the Venture Lab program, Dual Degree programs with Tufts, MIT and IE Master in Advanced Finance, an international partnership with Wharton and internship opportunities through IMBA in practice.

The International Executive MBA (Bi- weekly/Online, 13 months)

  • The International Executive MBA is a high level MBA program aimed at professionals with extensive experience who wish to broaden their perspectives, re-orientate in career or simply update their management knowledge.
  • The program is designed to be accessible to students worldwide in one or other of its two formats and to be compatible with the high level work pressures of our students. Participants will have the opportunity to share experience and build a network with like-minded professionals from a hugely diverse range of professional backgrounds as well as develop a strategic, global mindset, an understanding of the newest management tools and develop the communications, decision making and change management skills required by a leader in today’s fast-moving business world.
  • The Online format is based around two online training periods and three face-to-face periods each lasting two weeks. Students are therefore able to follow the program regardless of their geographic location and work commitments. Whereas the Bi-weekly format comprises presential classes every two weeks for participants who cannot leave their place of residence and/or professional responsibilities for extended periods of time.

IE Brown Executive MBA (Online & face to face, split between IE and Brown campuses, 15 months)

  • The IE Brown Executive MBA brings together the cutting edge approaches to management developed at IE Business School with the breadth of Brown University’s excellent liberal arts curriculum. With unique content developed by IE and Brown faculty, participants are challenged to think more deeply about issues impacting the global business environment. The program utilizes a broad range of disciplines to critically analyze many of the problems and opportunities organizations are faced with, supporting participants to find innovative and entrepreneurial solutions.
  • The IE Brown Exec MBA is for students with the greatest potential, who are dynamic, motivated, creative, and who not only present an excellent academic and professional background, but also offer the kind of interpersonal skills that will permit them to obtain maximum benefit from the program.

However, given the limited number of places in the program and the diverse student body, we recommend that you initiate the application process as far in advance as possible, roughly one year in advance of the desired program intake. This is especially important if you plan on applying for a scholarship as only accepted students may apply for a scholarship."
