Alternative Guide to Surviving The Recession

What inspire you to write?

A lack of good information and data on the recycling trade. I want to share my knowledge with young people breaking into the business.

Why write about the recycling trade?

Since I graduated from Birmingham some 22 years ago, I’ve always wanted to write something to help society. The credit crunch triggered an urge to assist the jobless and those who are unhappy with their present jobs and wish to work for themselves but have no clear direction.

The aim of The Money Makers: Crisis & Opportunity is to coach the jobless to survive unemployment. Unemployment benefit will never be enough to support their existing lifestyle. The situation can be beyond imagination for those who are infected with what I call “money deficiency syndrome”.

Even in hard times, people need to recycle. It offers good profit margin, high cash flow and needs little capital outlay. You need only simple knowledge of buying and selling. You can command your price without spending on marketing. It doesn’t require connections, networking or an existing customer base. During the economic slump the trade has helped people to stand on their feet financially.

What’s in the book?

More than eight years of my hands-on experience to guide newcomers. It covers four sectors of the recycling trade in detail, including a price guide (prices are subject to fluctuation), picture illustrations, where to find waste and how to buy and sell it. The main sectors are recyclable paper, scrap metal, used batteries and computer scraps.

Where to buy the book?

The book is published on Print on Demand (POD) and it never finds its way to the bricks and mortar bookstores. It is available at Amazon.com and the e-book is available for download atwww.createspace/3393206 @ US$12.95.
