An expert in entrepreneurship and innovation, Director of the Institute Of Enterprise and Innovation (UNIEI), and a Professor of Entrepreneurial Development, Professor Martin Binks has now added yet another title to his name. He is the new Dean of Nottingham University Business School.

With more than two decades of experience in the field of entrepreneurship and small and medium-sized enterprises, his main objective as Dean is to apply his expertise to build on the School’s strengths. He has also pioneered links across the university, including with campuses across Asia.

Professor Martin Binks: New Dean of Nottingham University Business School

Today, there are seven joint MSc programs with other Schools at Nottingham, as well as new courses in China and Malaysia, including an MBA in Entrepreneurship.

This has been a result of cooperation between Nottingham University Business School and UNIEI, with the aim of extending entrepreneurship education across the School. It led to the University being lauded with the Times Higher Education Award for ‘Entrepreneurial University of the Year’ in 2009.

Professor Martin Binks takes over from Professor Leigh Drake who has been the Dean since 2007, and is moving to Australia’s La Trobe University.

“Too many discoveries are missed because we don’t look upwards and outwards in terms of the University and the business world, private and public sector. Academics need pushing beyond the comfort zone of their specialist subject. Many of our students and the organisations we work with have discovered that when you bring together clever people from different disciplines great things can happen.”

I love these teachers that specialize in Small and Medium Size businesses. BB published a video with a Warwick professor as well not too long ago. Good for Nottingham for specializing in the kind of industry that actually creates something and provides people with good jobs.

Help Wanted! Help Wanted! Help Wanted! Help Wanted! Help Wanted!

Dear All,

I am planning to apply for the Essentials of Management Program at the University of St. Gallen. As I do not have enough experience for the Part-time MBA Program (which is definitely my long-term plan), I was recommended to do this course because I really want and need to continue my studies in order to gain more competitive advantages.

Please kindly help and give me some pieces of advice about your opinion and maybe some experience if you have.

I look forward to receiving your comments and maybe some private messages: zsolt_i@hotmail.com

Thank you very much for your kind assistance. Your help is highly appreciated

Very best regards

Zsolti
