Princeton, Arizona State University and now Darden Business School at the University of Virginia have all given the Kindle DX a big thumbs down. Darden Business School MBAs were given the chance to test run the second generation e-reader device, as part of a strategic move by Amazon to branch out into the education world. According to Ars Technica, when Darden MBA were asked if they would recommend the Kindle DX to incoming MBA students, 75-80% of the MBA cohort gave a resounding “no,” according to Michael Koenig, Darden director of MBA operations.

Maybe there’s a chance for the iPad to enter the b-school market and learn from the mistakes of its rival.

A Right Royal Welcome

It’s not everyday a monarch sits in on a graduation ceremony, but that’s exactly what happened to MBA students at Cass Business School in Dubai. HH Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum attended the inaugural graduation of the school’s Executive MBA students held at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DFIC). In his address to the audience, the Sheikh who is the CEO of the DFIC expressed that:

“World class executive education programmes like Cass’s Executive MBA are crucial for business professionals to keep themselves at the forefront of the industry. The DIFC Centre of Excellence, from where Cass offers its programme, was established to bring together global programmes that can train and inspire professionals in developing new approaches to business challenges, and new business ideas and strategies. Partnering with global business schools like Cass Business School is part of DIFC’s efforts to develop a large pool of dynamic professionals who can fuel the growth of the region’s financial industry.”

BusinessBecause is a crystal ball. If you guys can read the future, can I get a good job after my MBA?

the kindle, for all its e-ink goodness will probably never beat the ipad in the entertainment/cool dept. imagine all the futuristic-looking, mckinsey-trashing frameworks and charts an MBA student can churn out with an ipad! I'm off to write an app for that.

I'm gonna see if any Darden students are selling their KDX's on Marketplace on Facebook hehehe
