WASHINGTON – The George Washington University School of Business (GWSB) will now accept the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) as part of its admissions process for MBA students. The move, which goes into effect for the class of Fall 2011, will broaden the applicant pool for the School’s MBA programs.
“This reflects our efforts to include students from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines, including those from the liberal arts, to enrich the educational experience and think about business in new ways,” said Doug Guthrie, dean of GW School of Business and professor of management and international business.
“We are excited to offer this option to students and join the growing rank of elite business schools that offer this testing option,” said Judith Stockmon, executive director of Graduate Admissions.
GWSB will continue to accept the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) for admission to the MBA programs.
GW's School of Business prepares students for professional management careers. The depth and variety of its academic and professional programs, including five specialized master's programs, provide rich opportunities for students in the school's core bachelor of business administration, master of business administration, and doctoral programs. GW's undergraduate- and graduate-level international business programs rank among the world's best.

Isil,
We do not have a preference for one exam or the other, but starting for the incoming class of Fall 2011, we are accepting both the GRE and the GMAT exams. We also accept the TOEFL and IELTS exams for International students.
