The initiative is called Charitable Choice. Jon Webb-Peploe, who obtained his MBA at University of Bath School of Management in 2000, together with Chartered Insurance Practitioner Roy Clarke, founded Clear Choice Partnership Ltd earlier this year. The company has launched Charitable Choice as a way for customers to save money on financial products and share the savings with the charity of their choice.

Charitable Choice introduces a customer to a financial broker partner and gives half of what it earns and more back to the customer in the form of a discount or rebate, providing the supporter with the opportunity to share this money with a charity of their choice. The financial solutions available include ISAs, Investment Funds and Annuities. The brokers are established and independent and also give to charity as part of the deal.

Jon explains: “You can spend £534 to set up a £10,680 Investment ISA. So why not pay £54, save £480, and share your saving with a charity. If you have existing investments in managed funds then you can help charities too, without buying a product or making a donation yourselves. Re-register your existing funds through Charitable Choice and you can monitor, buy, sell and switch funds online; receive a consolidated statement of your investments and access quarterly fund research updates. Chelsea Financial Services, the broker, makes a donation to the supporter’s chosen charity subject to the value of the funds that are re-registered, and gives 20% of its annual commission to charity. A charity receives this share of Chelsea’s annual commission every year the supporter maintains the investment with them through Charitable Choice. This costs the supporter and the charity nothing".

You can find out more about Charitable Choice by visiting their website or by emailing info@charitablechoice.co.uk.
