One of our CUHK MBA Class of 2012 students, Kelvin Chiu's sharing in Nov. I hope all of our students are now enjoying their term break, re-charging for another chanllenge!

" For the next couple of weeks, my classmates and I are strapping ourselves in for the first set of final exams. After the exams there is much to look forward to as many of my classmates are either returning to their home countries for Christmas or travelling to somewhere in China or south east Asia. But before all that can happen, we will need to get through the conclusion of the term! It has been a stressful and anxious time for everyone. But I do see the light at the end of the tunnel.

For me, I will probably get to go on my first vacation into southeast Asia. It’s a chance to enjoy a week away and celebrate the end of term 1, perhaps on a beach with a drink in hand.

Even though there has been lots on the go, I am trying to spread my time and maintain a balanced lifestyle. I know that if I use my time appropriately, there should be sufficient time for everything… hopefully.

A couple weekends ago, I attended a corporate golf tournament at a golf course in the Guangdong province of China. It was about a three-hour drive from the Hong Kong/China border and I had lots of fun. It’s been a while since I have had time to play and it reminded me just how much fun golf really is. I will have to try and find some time to play some more once school work cools off for a bit. There are many spectacular courses in the region and I will be sure to visit them when time permits.

Other than that, November has been just course work and assignments. When term 1 finishes in a couple of weeks, there will be a small break before term 2 commences. I will have a lighter course load in term 2 so I am hoping to increase my involvement in other activities, such as exploring Hong Kong, going to more social/network events and to continue the search for potential summer internship openings! With the market the way it is, it is pretty difficult to find something right now, especially in banking which is my first preference.

This last month of term 1 has been intense, but I think from here on out, it should progressively get better in terms of workload. I am really looking forward to December!"
