GMAC is today (7th April) running a first-ever virtual Recruitment Fair - GMATCH - for applicants interested in taking a Masters or MBA degree at a top business school. WBS is one of only 3 UK schools taking part; in total 24 schools from Asia, Europe and North America are participating.

Each school is given a virtual stand, and to enable registered participants to contact individual schools online, each stand has to be covered across several world time zones. For WBS, staff are available today online from 4.00a.m. to 10.00p.m!

Heather Broadbent, MBA Recruitment Manager and in charge of co-ordinating WBS participation in GMATCH, explains: "The plan is to have someone on hand to help enquirers about all masters programmes including our MSc Management (full-time and blended learning) as well as the Warwick MBA.

"We want to meet candidates from around the world to give them a good overview of what WBS offers and to discuss their options. Whilst we run our own online events, this initiative is very new to us and so it's also a great way of finding out how it will work and whether or not it's something the participants will enjoy and if they'll get a lot from it. As well as chatting to different schools, participants can meet in the lounge area for an informal chat, watch a panel discussion in the auditorium (one of our current MSc Management students Lakshit Goyal is taking part at 8.15a.m. UK time) and download brochures or get links to useful information.

"The expectation is that there will be more than 1,000 participants pre-registered. It's an ideal way for us to target specific locations because we're covering four different time-zones."

My friend tried this and thought it was a great. My friends are international students and it's not always possible to travel abroad to visit the schools but doing a virtual recruitment fair means that we save money and are more likely to put in our applications to the schools that took place rather than the ones which only send brochures or tell you to visit their site!
