Looking for great opportunies, Atsuo Yamaguchi quited his financial careers in Japan and pursue his MBA in CUHK.
“While working for a financial service company in Japan, I had several opportunities to take business trips abroad. Out of the countries I visited, China seemed to be the most ‘energetic’ one. I am convinced that East and South-east Asia has the biggest opportunities for development in the next 20 years. In order to establish my career in Asian business, I consider that getting an MBA in this region will turn out to be most fruitful.
CUHK is the school that best meets my needs. Firstly, its location is good. Since Hong Kong is the main gate to enter Chinese business for foreign entities and has a strong influence in South-east Asia, spending time (studying and living) and following the developments there will certainly help me understand Asian business more. Secondly, the quality of the CUMBA is high. This programme has been running for more than 40 years. The diversity of both the faculty members and the students are high and their know-hows for Chinese business are extensive. Thirdly, its connection to regional businesses is strong. They have more than 5,000 alumni who are working in the region. I will be able to meet fellow classmates who are as interested in Asian business as I am, and hence we can probably work together in Asia in the future.”
