Why MBA: Warwick Business School

Automotive engineer Samir Abid wanted to upgrade his management skills

I realised that my engineering degree on its own was not enough for effective management of people or for continued success in senior management positions; I knew I needed an exceptional management qualification.

I chose the Warwick MBA based on its outstanding reputation both in the UK and internationally and the fact that it is good value for money for a one-year programme. Positive word of mouth from friends and colleagues reinforced the good feelings I got when I visited WBS; the people were genuinely helpful and friendly. However, it was the excellent sample lecture that really sold me. The real lectures have been even better and have far exceeded my expectations.

Much work is done in syndicate groups, which is often a challenge but a great way to practise and hone the new theory, skills and approaches. The activities also facilitate the building of networks, friendships and your confidence, as I am working with some of the best brains from all over the world.

In addition to a stimulating academic environment, WBS has an excellent Career Support team. The team have given me lots of help and advice to understand the workings of the diverse industries and sectors that are now open to me. Choosing to do the Warwick MBA is one of the best decisions I have ever made.
