Work

2014 – present

Project Manager

WYG Management Services , Kenya, United Kingdom
  • I have worked on two major Projects since joining this organisation, they are as follows:
  • BATUK, Kenya - Mar 17 to Present
  • The project currently being undertaken is the provision of new infrastructure to include roads, utilities and Host Nation power with a design life of 25 years for new build works to establish the technical and accommodation facilities comprising of Single Living Accommodation, Catering Retail and Leisure facilities, Equipment Support facilities, Roads, Utilities, Power and Security Lighting
  • BORONA, Stafford - Aug 14 to Mar 17
  • Supporting the Client in the day to day management of a £170,000,000 project; works included the construction of a housing estate composed of 346 houses under JSP guidelines. As well as the complete regeneration and upgrade to an existing barracks, this entailed the construction or refurbishment of 37 Facilities in order to accommodate an addition of 2,000 troops returning from overseas, also encompassed in the works package were a complete new service trench, Vehicle training area, four sports pitches, the regeneration of roads infrastructure, a new tracked vehicle route and large areas of hard and soft landscaping in which I was tasked to record and govern all ongoing works, due to the level of detail my records were utilized regularly within commercial meetings.
  • The housing project was deemed to be the fastest house building project in Europe and was completed within one year, for this part of the project I was given the opportunity to oversee and manage the final handovers, working closely with the contractor to snag and undertake the final inspections of both plots and landscaping.
  • I was able to overcome and mitigate a number of complicated hurdles on this project which helped me gain a vast understanding into many of issues that may be envisaged on a construction project. Such issue included Site wide outages, underground services, asbestos, army regulations and specifications, input from the end user, flooding & delays caused by weather.
  • A large portion of my time on the project was utilised attending the various meetings held with key stakeholders; this includes the contractors, the End user and work closely with the client (DIO PM).
