Bio

During my career to date, I have demonstrated many of the attributes that prominent PE funds look for in their associates:

Transactional and client relationship management expertise: Whether acting in a financial capacity (at Lazard, advising most notably an Asian strategic investor in the context of a US$120 million equity investment into a European-based Liquefied Natural Gas terminal project or, at RBC Capital Markets, advising most notably a leading Canadian satellite radio operator following the merger of the two American satellite radio operators) or in a legal capacity (at Stikeman Elliott, Canada's leading international business law firm, advising most notably Danaher in its C$247m takeover of Ontario-based Trojan Technologies, Bain Capital in its C$1b acquisition of Quebec-based Dollarama and Hasbro in its acquisition of Wrebbit, a world-class Quebec-based puzzle maker), I have had the opportunity to advise M&A corporate executives in a number of high profile transactions on how to effectively tackle financial, legal and negotiation challenges to achieve their corporate objectives. As evidenced by the decision of a former Stikeman Elliott client (whom I advised in the context of a Norwegian business acquisition) to retain my services to advise, while pursuing my MBA, on the development and implementation of its international M&A strategy, a systematic focus on delivering results for clients based on leading edge business and legal advise allowed me to build and nurture exceptionally strong client relationships.

Financial services investment banking and regulatory expertise: While representing global investment banks at Stikeman Elliott, Canada's leading international business law firm, notably on high profile cross- border offerings, I acquired deep insight into the Canadian banking regulatory environment, which was analyzed in contrast with the US and European banking regulatory environments. In addition, at RBC Capital Markets, working extensively in the FIG area, I developed a US life & P&C insurance M&A acquisition strategy for a leading Canadian insurance company in pursuit of a US expansion plan. These experiences promise to be invaluable in helping identify opportunities for financial institution clients amid the current worldwide financial services industry regulatory overhaul.

First class academic credentials and analytical skills: Building on a world-class business (MBA, London Business School), legal (Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) & Bachelor of Civil Law (B.C.L.), McGill University, Faculty of Law) and public policy (Master of Public Policy and Administration (MPPA), Concordia University) academic background and on superior analytical skills, whether at Stikeman Elliott, Lazard or RBC Capital Markets, I strived to constantly put forward innovative business and legal solutions capitalizing on the latest thinking of world experts to constructively address continuously evolving client needs.

These skills, combined with my intense desire to learn and contribute quickly and extensively, will support your efforts not only to maintain your status as a leadind fund, but to build on its very impressive track record to achieve new heights.

Thank you for the consideration given to my candidacy. I look forward to interviewing with you.

Yours sincerely,

Frederic Brassard
