About RSM

Rotterdam School of Management (RSM) at Erasmus University is arguably one of the most internationally diverse MBAs in the world. Only a handful of students are actually from the Dutch host country, and rather than trying to build a local faculty from scratch, RSM have made the smart decision to assemble some of the best management thinkers globally and fly them in to teach their specialist courses. The folks at RSM strongly believe in merging cultures and ways of thinking. Students are encouraged to question their existing assumptions about business and to soak up new ideas and perspectives from their multi-cultural classmates. “Behavioural transformation”, “Critical thinking” and “diversity” are popular buzz words around campus.

Built on the historic grandeur of its global trading port, the modern Rotterdam offers quirky architecture, surprising sculptures, plenty of street cafes, an efficient airport and more bicycles than you can imagine. Most people speak English so, unlike some European cities, you can communicate easily with locals as well as with your MBA buddies. The business school maintains strong links with Dutch corporate giants Unilever, Shell and Phillips – who, along with 5 other “founding fathers”, stumped up 2 million guilders (nearly EUR 1 million) each to establish a post-grad institution for management education back in 1966. The full time MBA was launched in 1985, and RSM now offers a range of executive, masters and professional programs in management.
