We aim to update our website regularly, and may change the content at any time without notice. If the need arises, we may suspend access to our website, or close it indefinitely. Access to our website is only granted on a temporary basis.

You agree that BusinessBecause is under no obligation to oversee, monitor or moderate any Member Story and cannot therefore guarantee the accuracy, integrity or quality of any User Generated Content.

What information do we collect about you?

We collect information about you when you register with us, update your profile, follow your ‘school’ or institution page, post comments and upload content. We also collect information when you complete our surveys, provide feedback or reviews, send us enquiries or enter our competitions.

We also use cookies to collect information about your use of our websites.

How will we use this information about you?

We collect information about you to process your registration, set up your profile page and provide you with a personalised service on our site. For example, we can place the location of your network friends on your own BusinessBecause world map, or ‘tag’ you or your school in our editorial (you can always ‘untag’ yourself if you’d rather).

We will also direct articles which we think you’ll be interested in to your profile landing page. This will be based on the details you’ve provided us via your registration, for example whether you’re currently applying for or attending business school and where you’ve studied or worked before.

We will also carry out aggregate statistical analysis of our registered uses and our site content so we can see what parts of our site are popular.

Will you pass my information on to other companies for marketing purposes?

This is totally up to you. In the future we may want to join forces with a company which we think can offer you something really great – like an amazing discount voucher or list of fantastic jobs – and the only way to get this through to you may be via email. If you’ve ticked the consent box on registration to say you’re ok with this – then we’ll pass your email over (along with strict guidelines that they can only email you those goodies and that’s it). If you ever change your mind – just let us know and we’ll be happy to take you off the list – or happy to add you.

How long will we keep this information about you?

If you request for your profile to be deleted, it will be taken down from our website, but it will remain on our backend database for 12 months in case we need to access the records to answer any queries or in case you change your mind and want to re-join.

After 12 months your profile will be deleted completely apart from your email address and the date you decided to close your profile. Any content uploaded by you onto our website will remain on the network.

Access to your information and correction

We want to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date. Please always let us know if you think it is not.

Please remember BusinessBecause is for those persons over the age of 18. Please do not provide us with any personal information if you are under 18.

We keep our privacy policy under regular review and we will place any updates on this webpage. If there is a material change which we think could have a detrimental effect on you we’ll send a message via your profile page or send you an email.
