The full-time international MBA at Nyenrode Business Universiteit plays host to one of the highest percentages of women in the world. This year, 53% of its MBAs are women; eclipsing the number of women on any program in the Financial Times’ global top 40.

During the one-year MBA, students get the chance to network with CEOs, to work on real-life consulting projects for real firms, and to enjoy visits to cities within the European Union such as Brussels, Copenhagen, Dublin, Paris and Milan.

83% of Nyenrode MBA students land jobs within three months of graduation. Top MBA employers include Unilever, Philips, ING, and Microsoft. And the school offers a Women in Business Scholarship of up to 50% off tuition fees for the best female talent.

Thus, the leading Dutch business school is boosting numbers of women in business, developing new generations of female business leaders, and helping them to break through the glass ceiling.

We spoke to two Nyenrode MBA alumnae to find out more:

Lisanne Verhagen, MBA ‘14

Lisanne wanted to gain international exposure with an MBA at Nyenrode. After graduation, she landed a job in Switzerland at DSM, one of the Netherland’s biggest multinational companies. Thanks to Nyenrode’s network, the Dutch MBA alumna was able to kick-start an international career in HR.

On the Nyenrode MBA… I would never have landed my dream job at DSM if it wasn’t for Nyenrode. By the end of my MBA, I was planning to relocate and needed to look for place to write my MBA thesis in Basel, Switzerland. Via Nyenrode I got an interview with DSM and was accepted to write my thesis on Talent Management there. My thesis internship became my full time job!

On women in business… More and more leaders are seeing that diversity and inclusion is essential to the success of their businesses. Where business used to be much more male dominated, we see that females are just as successful in business as males.

At Nyenrode, we were exposed to various female business leaders, and the program offered skill development programs that helped us to make the next step in our career.

Cyreta Laws, MBA ‘16

cyretalaws

Cyreta is a serial entrepreneur who’s been in business for over a decade. In her native Jamaica, she’s owned and managed several companies across a range of industries including HR management, education, marketing, and IT. She holds both a business administration and a law degree. In 2015, she relocated thousands of miles across the Atlantic to pursue an MBA at Nyenrode.

On the Nyenrode MBA… I chose Nyenrode because of its impressive alumni network. I was also especially influenced by aspects of the program like the ‘meet the CEO’ sessions and the international travel opportunities on offer. Once I saw the campus it was a no brainer. It’s absolutely breathtaking!

The MBA experience has opened up the opportunity to work in the Netherlands and internationally. It has helped focus my career and put a lot of things into perspective.

On women in business… The business environment is changing and more companies are speaking out about gender balance. Soon, the status quote will change. Women will become decision makers along with men. Change is slow in some regions but the shift is sure; women will step into their rightful place alongside men.

An MBA allows women to shift their mindset and empower themselves to be able to operate corporations, start businesses and drive innovation. At Nyenrode, there are no restrictions to exploring your potential.

Starting from September 2017, Nyenrode’s full-time international MBA will be based in the historical heart of Amsterdam. The program will be hosted at Nyenrode’s premises in De Vijf Keizers, a building complex located next to the Keizersgracht; one of Amsterdam’s iconic canals.
