Grenoble MBA Annette Acosta is a finance aficionado: she has worked in the industry since she began her career in Mexico in 2006 and now is looking to continue her work in the finance world in the US. Between then and now, though, Acosta earned her MBA from Grenoble.

She said that she decided to attend Grenoble so that she could gain more leadership experience outside of her role at Mexico’s largest brokerage house.

“That job was a lot of fun, but I thought I needed a bit of a push,” Acosta said. “It’s a big ladder to climb in a big institution, so I thought the MBA was going to help me acquire new leadership skills to be able to jump ahead in an organization.”

After Grenoble, Acosta interned at another brokerage house, Bolt Markets, in London for four months.  London is the “capital of the finance world” and gave Acosta the opportunity to have gain more experience and exposure.

“It was great to see how the finance world worked in London,” Acosta said. “Most financial institutions have their headquarters there, there’s a big community in the finance world. It’s a great city: the culture and diversity there, it’s amazing.”

The cultural diversity at Grenoble was also a big selling point for Acosta, in addition to Grenoble’s expert financial professors and its curriculum that specializes in innovation and strategy. With all of those factors combined, the Grenoble MBA experience turned out to be more than just a series of career-launching b-school courses: “What they are teaching you is much more valuable than just a business course.”
