When people think about doing an MBA, career outcomes are usually top of mind. Beyond classes and exams, the experience brings access to coaching, employer feedback, and real-world exposure that can make a difference when it comes time to look for your next role.

In this GMAC webinar, delivered in partnership with UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, we took a closer look at how an MBA supports students as they prepare for the next stage of their careers. The discussion centred on Smurfit’s MBA Leadership & Employability Advancement Program (LEAP), a year-long initiative that combines career coaching, mock interviews with employer feedback, mentoring from UCD alumni, and hands-on workshops with academic study.

The panel also discussed the influence of Dublin’s business environment, considering how studying in one of Europe’s key business and technology hubs can expand access to employers, networks, and international opportunities during and after the MBA.

With moderation by GMAC writer & video content producer Norma Maher, panellists include:

- Louise Campbell, senior manager, careers network, UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School

- Maireed Mulvey, MBA admissions manager, UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School

- Priyanka Deodhar, MBA student, UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School

- Laura Thepenier, UCD MBA graduate, data and measurement account manager, Google
