2008 – present

Co-Founder

Gaming & Betting Technology Forum (non profit)
  • Since 2002, I realised that there is a lot can be leart from the Telecom sector, e.g. technical collaborations/standardisations.
  • However, in the remote gaming gambling world, due to the constantly changing legal landscape(s) worldwide, priorities had been focusing on short term challenges. Technical challenges are mostly internalised or outsourced to key suppliers & stayed in the background.
  • It would however bring huge benefits to the sector if key senior directors gathered together & share in a private forum (Chatham house rule).
  • However, it stayed in the back of my mind until Matt Carter & Tony Ballardie of Betfair approached me to co-founding this Forum.
  • We have soft launched it with invitations going out to the most senior directors of the remote gaming gambling world.
  • Our first event went very smoothly supported by Juniper networks, and with CTOs/CIOs of major gaming firms.
  • You would have been approached already, if not, please give us a shout.

Founder CEO

GamBond®
  • A bond guarantee company, to guarantee private/public firms' "default risks" (essentially we insure companies that will not go bust!).
  • 2013, trust is all time low worldwide, it would seem no one entities worth our trust anymore: as even banks and governments are in the news going or about to go into default. Worst is that the most vulnerable and less-informed are often worst hit as they are not well equipped to analyse and decide whom to trade/partner with or buy from. Some might argue that in 2013, the previous ways of bridging trust for companies having good ratings, being audited by big 4, or being public market listed does not mean much anymore, what do you think?
  • We are creating a new ecosystem that will become a viable alternative to be rated/audited/listed.. (Well, second generation rating & insurance combined backed with pots of cash, but empowering internal CFOs/auditors/CROs) In short, if a firm guaranteed by us that goes bust or license get withdrawn, we will assume all their liabilities.
  • +++ more details:
  • Ultimately we will be able to bond guarantee many different industries. Based on 30+ years of experience in the credit/insurance market of the founders.
  • "GamBond® will be pioneering a new generation of "default risk financial guarantee", it'll be Cash (or equivalent Asset) backed on a very transparent basis.
  • Therefore we'll be creating a new insurance/re-insurance vertical of "industry default risk".
  • GamBond® will lock in the whole value chain contractually from regulator, treasury/corporate bank, to auditors and even competitors to collect, collate & quantify this new default risk (directly or anonymously), based on quantitative and qualitative information provided.
  • Essentially it'll be a very simple scheme whereby GamBond® will assume all outstanding liability (either towards consumer or shareholders) of a "bonded" company going into administration or having their license (from a well regulated jurisdiction) withdrawn.
