Bio

Interested in hitech, big data, social media, politics, economics and goings-on in and outside the MBA world. I like to write about all kinds of things. I know people from all over the world and I love it. The proportion of my acquaintances with MBAs is growing like crazy(I wonder why?!). I want to speak Chinese Mandarin by the time I am 39.5. Work

2011 – present

Journalist

BusinessBecause
  • I work with the first and only business school news and networking site, publishing articles and interviews daily dedicated to business school candidates and alumni.
2010 – 2011
(Sep – Sep)

Policy Intern

Independent Academic Research Studies
  • I worked within a team of select young people to influence processes that make law and policy at various levels of government. We carried out large scale research projects in London for bodies such as the Mayor of London and London Transport and the London Metropolitan Police. I managed high volumes of data by entering them into comprehensible Word and Excel documents and contributed to decisions on project strategies or appropriate methodology required.
  • In this capacity I maintained liaisons with staff members in order to provide written feedback to them and to the Board of trustees.
  • I reviewed, in the 2011 issue of the Youth Voice Journal, "Fires in the Mind" by Kathleen Cushman an important contribution to the ongoing policy debates about education in the UK and internationally.
2008 – 2010

Academic Mentor

University of Sussex
  • I was trained to provide one-to-one and group study support to law students of differing academic abilities. I also gave short presentations to as many as a 300 students during skills workshops encouraging them to attend those office hours. I made sure to keep an open line of communication by maintaining a friendly and approachable air.
2008 – 2010

Finance Officer

University of Sussex Hear Afrika Society
  • I was responsible for fundraising and managing the budget. During my tenure, we raised over of £4,000 from various sources. I wrote funding proposals and attended meeting with sponsors. Some of the money we raised went to Somali Aid, a student run charity while some of it was used to put on high profile events and conferences
