Bio

I have an enduring interest for strategy since an early age and grew up reading military strategy. Since my MBA, this has evolved into a love for understanding how people and organisations can work in the most effective manner. This work is interesting, important, and worth doing well.

I like my numbers but strive for integrative, holistic thinking - it is important to balance robust, statistically sound data analysis and structured 'pyramid' thinking with discussions around leadership, history and culture. Cliche as it may sound - diagnosing organisational issues is as much of an art as a science, and an exercise to be approached with respect.

I enjoy my work as a management consultant but am also intellectually curious and actively seek out opportunities to broaden my knowledge base and hone business intuition. To this end I regularly judge and mentor RMIT business plan competition teams and have reviewed dozens of start-ups. In particular, I have a keen interest and a growing skillset in the digital and advanced analytics space.

Outside of the office, I support community development and advise two fantastic organisations. I am also disturbed by the current education-employment paradigm leaving 'talent on the table' and have co-founded a startup to experiment with ideas to address this gap. I also play the bass guitar.

Feel free to contact me to network, collaborate or just share a coffee.

  • Impetus Consulting Group is an ambitious group of student consultants who believe in the power of collaboration to enhance the impact of not-for-profit organisations.
  • Impetus brings together a group of multi-disciplinary, high potential students, backed up by an experienced advisory board, to deliver greater social return for non-profit entities.
  • Impetus was founded in early 2012, when a group of students came together in the shared belief that young people do not need to be experts to positively impact society. Inspired by similar organisations across the globe, they decided to create an opportunity for undergraduates and postgraduates across Melbourne to use their creativity and problem solving abilities for a greater good.
  • My role is to work with the CEO and staff leadership team to develop, refine and oversee the implementation of Impetus' organisational strategy. This consists of identifying key areas that Impetus needs to excel in to succeed in their organisational context and assisting to develop robust strategies and methodologies for each. The organisation is young but has an excellent culture, is maturing quickly and has great potential to create lasting social impact.
