Manager - Operational Excellence

  • Manager – Operational Excellence (Corporate Banking – Operations & Technology 2010 – 2011)
  • Financial supply chain model: Managed a seven member project team and implemented a solution of paperless flow across Corporate Banking Operations. Coordinated with 16 country Operations team and transferred 40 processes to the new workflow solution. More than 800 users carry out transactions using this solution and it reduced over a million papers and resulted in savings of over 500,000 USD.
  • Operational risk analytics: Managed a team of 12 Risk Managers and deployed a risk control tool across shared service centers in five countries. More than 1300 users used this tool on a daily basis. This tool has ensured robust control in Operations and has prevented operational loss worth more than 80,000 USD
  • Process Document Repository: Developed an end to end solution for critical document archival and retrieval using an in-house web based service and established key controls to automate the approval process. Through this project, archived more than 4000 service level agreements and operating instructions. This helped the teams, meet a key audit criterion.
  • Operations Management Analyst (Consumer Banking – Operations & Technology 2008 – 2010)
  • E-statement migration project: Led a team of 11 members and successfully completed a project to migrate over 7300 staff of the bank from paper based statements to E-statements. Designed an intranet portal to enable staffs to register for E-statement. This project saved more than 100,000 papers and resulted in an overall save of 120,000 USD.
  • Rejects reduction: Led a team of 19 members and conducted a project, to reduce rejection in savings account opening. Used the Six Sigma concept (DMAIC methodology) to come up with a solution and reduced rejections from 49% to 23%. In this project, I designed a tool to keep track of rejections and escalating them to the proper authority. This project prevented revenue leakage of 73000 USD.
  • Management Trainee (2007 – 2008)
  • Query reduction: Managed a four member project team on a project to reduce internal queries referred to the operations unit. Mentored the team on Six sigma problem solving tools and developed a solution to provide key operation information to front end users. As a result queries reduced by 50%.
  • Logistics tracker: Implemented a logistics tracker, to track all account opening documents that flow into the operations unit from various logistic agents, located across India. Worked with external logistics courier companies and developed a model for quick delivery of cheque books to customers. As a result of the project, the Turn around Time (TAT) for the cheque book delivery decreased from 5 days to 2 days.
