  • Leading a multinational team on deployments to remote areas of Sub-Saharan Africa, delivering an embedded live simulation training capability to the British Army.
  • DUTIES INCLUDE:
  • - Allocation of a range of human and physical resources in response to dynamic customer requirements.
  • - Relationship management of current customers to ensure satisfaction with all aspects of service delivery, whilst developing potential for business development through existing complementary Saab products or new products.
  • - Manage and develop stakeholder relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to ensure all stakeholders remain fully informed and correctly managed at all stages through the project lifecycle.
  • - Identifying, managing and mitigating risk for a project and staff operating in remote and austere environments.
  • - Provide support and subject matter expertise to Saab HR when interviewing, recruiting and training new employees.
  • EXTRA-CURRICULAR:
  • Combined the theoretical elements of MBA study with on-going real-life business situations to develop practical approaches to best setting the organisation for future success. For example:
  • - Worked with the MD on developing and implementing significant adaptations to the organisation’s strategy in response to significant upheaval to the strategy of the their primary customer.
  • - Proposed a new recruiting and employment structure for future contracts that allows the organisation to reduce manpower costs by over 40%, whilst maintaining the service concept central to all Saab projects.   • - Worked directly to the MD to establish initial intent and desired outcomes.
  • - Surveyed and analysed over 200 previous clients & customers to understand the appetite and requirements for a social media strategy.
  • - Culminated in the production of an analysis of customer’s social media demands and favoured channels. Subsequent recommendations to MacDonald & Co facilitated a successful and targeted use of several social media.

  • Management of 50 personnel, ensuring the department worked effectively across a wide variety of projects. Additionally responsible for collective training, managing resources, mentoring and directing the department to achieve training and administrative goals.
  • DUTIES INCLUDE:
  • - Creation of training programmes for 50 individuals; including delivering and overseeing instruction.
  • - Efficient administration of departmental records and career development files.
  • - Production of written reports and oral presentations and subsequent briefing at board level.
  • - Responsible for the management of sub units 10 strong armoured vehicle fleet and associated equipment ensuring maintenance and servicing procedures are followed providing high availability for training.
  • ACHIEVEMENTS:
  • - Tasked with ensuring the department had 90% of individuals trained in specific areas on a rolling 12 monthly basis. Through accurately and robustly tracking individuals (up to 6 months in advance) effectively managed the training function ensuring that at all times these targets were exceeded.
  • - As a result of developing individual training programmes, training goals and timescales, combined with the creation of a new mentoring programme, ensured the department was significantly better trained than the others within the Regiment, gaining recognition by various training staff and senior personnel.
