The 2013 EFMD MBA Conference, one of the biggest conventions for the movers and shakers who design and run MBA programmes around the world, will tackle the MBA Director’s Dilemma amongst other challenging topics.

The conference will bring participants up-to-date on the latest thinking on everything from the content of the programmes to relations with recruiters, to online learning, to handling the press.

EFMD is an influential membership organisation focused on management education, with business schools, businesses and consulting firms among its members. It also accredits business schools through its EQUIS stamp.

The conference, which is supported by the Graduate Management Admission Council, will take place at the IMD campus in Lausanne, Switzerland, from 17 to 19 March. The theme is Leading the MBA: The Good, the Bad & the Ugly.

“The role of the MBA Director has never been more important and balancing a mix of leading, coaching and inspiring with carrots, sticks and humility is not easy”, said Prof. Eric Cornuel, the CEO and director general of EFMD.

The event brings together course directors from across the MBA spectrum (full-time, part-time, distance learning or executive) to share ideas whilst also providing practical tools and best practice.

It’s also a great way to build a network of business school decision-makers around the world from schools including IMD, ESMT, EADA, Grenoble Graduate School of Business, LBS, SDA Bocconi, Lancaster and Frankfurt School of Finance & Management !

“While MBA demand remains strong amongst employers, the sector has become increasingly complex,” explains Dave Wilson, GMAC president and CEO. “Programme directors are working in very challenging environments and are key to the success of their programmes.”
