Sudesh Sundhara Moorthy, an MBA alumni of Australia’s Edith Cowan University, has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of Phoenix Ogilvy & Mather in Sri Lanka.

At BusinessBecause we have just learnt of the success of this leading marketing and communications specialist who has spent 10 of his 15 years career with the WPP group. Over the years he has won several prestigious Effie awards from the American Marketing Association for his successful advertising campaigns.

As head of one of the world’s most heavyweight ad agencies, Sudesh has worked on the advertising for some of the largest blue chip companies such as Coca-Cola.

As well as an Edith Cowan MBA, which he completed in 2007, Sudesh has a whole host of letters after his name. This is clearly a man who likes to keep busy! Sudesh holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing UK. He is also currently studying for his Management Accountancy qualification from The Institute of Chartered Management Accountants in Australia. Sudesh now lectures on Marketing Communications for people taking the Chartered Institute of Marketing examinations.

Sudesh also played an important role as part of Ogilvy South Asia in successfully pitching for the job as the official advertising and media agency for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, an event that had a billion people watching from more than 180 countries.
