Crossing boundaries - Europe and Asia

France’s EM LYON has signed an agreement with University Lumière Lyon 2 to offer a dual degree in law and management. The degree will train would-be corporate lawyers and will be on offer from September 2011.

China’s Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (SAIF) forged its first link in Europe, with Paris Dauphine University. The two universities signed a strategic partnership agreement on a variety of exchanges between the schools.

From student exchanges within their MBA and MIF (Master in International Finance) programs, to research collaboration, faculty exchange and overseas study tours, this agreement is the first of its kind for SAIF with a European university.

China isn’t the only economic power in Asia. South-East Asian countries are growing as fast and offer great job opportunities for business graduates. Lancaster University Management School has been building links with Malaysia’s Sunway University. . Through this partnership, Lancaster’s MSc programs in management, money, banking and finance are offered in Malaysia.

To deepen the relationship, key faculty from Sunway visited Lancaster this year to discuss how better balance teaching on the Masters programs and set up new research and staff development activities.
