Applications for the 2024 GMAT Talent and Opportunity Scholarship, which offers 10 winners a mixture of financial aid and access to preparatory resources to assist with taking the GMAT Focus Edition Exam, are now open.

Offered by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), which owns and administers the test, the GMAT scholarship is available until June 14th and is only open to applicants within Europe.

Now in its third year, the scholarship aims to promote inclusivity and make studying more accessible for business school hopefuls from underrepresented groups. GMAC therefore encourages applications from women, LGBTQ+ and non-binary candidates, ethnic minorities, socio-economically diverse, and people with disabilities.

“GMAC strives to reach the sustainable development goal of providing equitable access to high-quality education globally. I am pleased to announce the continuation of our scholarship initiative well into its third year,” said Joy Jones, CEO of GMAC.

With 10 awards available—last year’s winners came from a wide range of countries and included a road safety advocate, a law student, and a DJ—each successful applicant will gain close to $5,000 (€4,500) worth of aid and resources.

As well as a voucher covering the full cost of the GMAT Focus Edition Exam and a GMAT Official Practice Exam package, the scholarship also provides access to an instructor-led preparation course and sessions with a professional admissions consultant at Fortuna Admissions. For those GMAT scholarship applicants who plan to study abroad, there’s also the chance to access online cultural courses provided by CulturaGo to assist with the transition to a new environment.

Recognizing the stress and anxiety that prospective students often encounter during the business school admissions process, GMAC has also pledged to provide a year-long subscription to Calm, the number-one ranked app for meditation and sleep.

To unlock these various benefits, applicants to this GMAT scholarship must write an essay detailing how the unique nature of their background has helped to shape them in their lives so far. The essay must also show how candidates see themselves contributing to the promotion of a more diverse learning environment once they enter business school.

“We encourage aspiring business school students to apply for a GMAT Scholarship and are excited to hear about applicants’ unique personal journeys. At GMAC, we recognize that everyone is an individual, and welcome applications from all backgrounds and sectors, whether traditional or non-business. It’s this diversity that makes business schools thrive,” said Nalisha Patel, regional director for Europe at GMAC.

The GMAT Talent and Opportunity Scholarship is delivered alongside a range of industry sponsors, including test prep organizations and online course providers. This year’s sponsors include: CulturaGo, 700+ CLub, CoVent Prep, Fortuna Admissions, English Business Services, Dia Gerontoudi Prep Center, GMAT Amsterdam, and Your GMAT Coach.
