Leadership challenges facing business leaders in 2022

In 2022 business leaders will face a collective of challenges that cut across industries and sectors.

The likes of Covid-induced burnout and damaged employee mental health, to implementing sustainability measures and address workplace inequality, will all need to be overcome to lead successfully during the next 12 months.

In the latest BusinessBecause guide, Executive MBA Insights: 10 Leadership Challenges For 2022, world leading business school professors and industry experts tell you the 10 challenges senior leaders will need to overcome in 2022.

Here are three of those challenges. Download and read our full guide for a breakdown of all 10 challenges, and how an Executive MBA could help you overcome them.

Leadership challenge 1: Sustainability

Climate change should be high on any business leader’s agenda. That’s because current climate policies aren’t enough to prevent global temperatures from rising above the 1.5C target proposed in the Paris Agreement. There is opportunity, though, for businesses to take responsibility for decarbonizing their own operations, and to help combat the climate crisis.

Leadership challenge 2: Workplace inequality

Gender and racial inequality in the workplace continued through 2021, and there is increasing pressure on businesses to ensure their workforces better represent wider society.

“It’s not only about gender but racial equality and social opportunities, and the role of companies in our society, which is going to become more and more important,” explains Miguel Simoes de Melo, partner at Bain & Company and head of the firm’s EMEA Strategy practice.

Leadership challenge 3: The Great Resignation

The Bureau for Labor Statistics (BLS) showed that 38 million Americans quit their jobs during 2021, in a phenomenon that’s become known as the Great Resignation.

Employees are reassessing what they want from work, and whether they can get it from their current employer.

The benefits of studying an Executive MBA

There are many benefits to studying an Executive MBA; in our guide we run you through the six core benefits of opting to study an EMBA. They include:

→ Gain An Experienced Network. Your Executive MBA classes are shared with a cohort of high-level professionals from across industry. You’ll be learning from senior managers with experience across healthcare, technology, marketing, consulting, finance, and more.

→ Refresh Your Knowledge Of Business Fundamentals. A typical Executive MBA will give you the space to refresh your knowledge of core areas like accounting, business ethics, corporate finance, decision and risk analysis, data analytics for leaders, economics, marketing, operations management, and strategic management.

→ Learn About The Latest Business Trends. Studying an Executive MBA gives you the chance to learn about cross-industry trends that could be transferable to your own business.
