The Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (SAIF) was the only university stop for students from the University of Saskatchewan's Edwards School of Business during their recent tour of China.

The 28 students took in the Jiao Tong University Museum (SAIF is part of the elite university) and spent time with SAIF's MBA and Masters in Finance students.

SAIF's professor Canlin Li led a heated discussion on the future of financial services in China for students from both schools.

SAIF got going in September 2009 and the Edwards tour group is the only overseas study group that the Institute has received so far. No doubt the first school dedicated to finance studies in the heart of China's financial capital can expect a lot more visitors, but credit to students from a remote Canadian prairie town for beating the world to it.

Does anyone know the character for Saskatchewan in Chinese?

See more photos of the tour here.
