Aston Business School Busy For Global Entrepreneurship Week

Aston Business School alumni back on campus for a packed schedule of events

Aston Business School is supporting Global Entrepreneurship Week 2011 next week with a series of events, videos and web chats on topics such as researching the market for your business and entrepreneurial activity.

Aston Business School’s aim is to participate in a national conversation about entrepreneurship which will help to connect people, share ideas and explore regional issues to drive the next generation of business owners.

There will be a focus on a different theme each day informed by the School’s research and supported by the experiences of Aston graduates. You can see more details on the full program of events here

Highlights include an alumni networking event on Thursday 17 November called Expert Perspectives: Researching the Market for Your Business. Over 70 attendees are expected to attend and hear from Aston Business School Alumni John Poole and Angie Lowe, both senior market researchers. The event has been awarded High Impact status by the organisers of Global Entrepreneurship Week. You can find more details here.

Aston Business School will also be releasing will be releasing videos from an interview with Debra Blisson MBA (PT 2006), Director of Enterprise and Business Support at Advantage West Midlands. Debra has over 25 years experience as an entrepreneur and is an expert in supporting and developing female entrepreneurs.

She will talk about the picture of entrepreneurial activity and support available in the West Midlands, and her own work including the start of her PhD looking at female entrepreneurs, in particular the difference between female entrepreneurial activity in the UK and US.
