BI Norwegian student Yao Dou worries she may have missed the deadline for a dream job

I still regret about didn’t catch up the deadline of applying L’Oreal. The position was financial controller, and the company produces cosmetics, which is some job I would like to have a try. “The competition should be high and I wouldn’t have good chance.” Now must I comfort myself like this.

The reason I missed it is stupidly simple, I just get used to procrastination. When I realized the date, it passed already. I hope it could teach me a lesson that do not procrastinate things until the very last second. The ability is important, but the attitude is more, if not equally.

What I do now basically is go to BI Career Service portal http://www.bi.no/Hovedstruktur/Studenter-20/Karriereservice/ once a week and check if there is any position suits me. Usually I jump over announces in Norwegian and have a look with those in English. I hope I would be able to read those in Norwegian as soon as possible, which will increase my possibility significantly. I am also interested in some part-time projects, which I believe will give me some new practice and experience.

I will go to an interview for one project as assistant of group controller this Friday. Now I am a little bit excited and nervous. I will come back with more stories next week. Just remind myself that it is never too late to do anything, but do it as early as possible.
