Business school have a wealth of talent at their disposal – permanent faculty members, visiting professors and students from around the world all work together to produce a rich variety of high-quality research. The stumbling block, however, is how this information gets those who might want to apply it to their own studies or careers.

ESSEC Knowledge seeks to overcome this problem, by providing an online portal dedicated to sharing the research and expertise they have at their disposal. As well as providing access to cutting edge research highlights, and offering a searchable database of all ESSEC publications, it offers an innovative ‘Point of View’ section. This forum allows faculty members and researchers to present the insights on current events and trending business topics.

The multimedia focus is also notable – ESSEC Knowledge gives access to a wealth of video content, including interviews with leading professors. Radu Vranceanu, Professor of Economics and Director of ESSEC’S Research Centre, said, ‘people want to understand management issues but don’t have the same tools as the researchers. What we want to do with the ESSEC Knowledge portal is to find a way to create a relationship between researchers and civil society, and be able to integrate and provide them with some guidance for understanding the real world issues.’

ESSEC Knowledge creates an online library environment with a lot more scope for genuine communication than the ‘no-talking-policy’ real world equivalent, fuelling international dialogue on an academic platform.
