New York University Stern School of Business recently announced a $53.6 million testamentary gift, the largest in its history.

Donated by alumna, Anne E. Tasca, a leading real estate magnate, her generosity represents a landmark not only as the school's largest ever gift from a woman donor, but also the largest individual donation NYU Stern has ever received.

The gift will be used to fund undergraduate and MBA student scholarships with a focus on global study and travel, the school announced. The gift is also bequeathed to a faculty chair in honor of Ms’ Tasca’s late Father, American Diplomat, Henry J. Tasca.

To honor Ms. Tasca’s landmark gift, NYU Stern will award four students' scholarships from the start of the 2023-2024 academic year. Two prospective undergraduate and MBA students will be awarded scholarships in her name.

“She is leaving a legacy that will provide generations of future Tasca Scholars access to the power of education and the ability to pursue it along with their dreams,” said Raghu Sundaram, Dean, NYU Stern.

Ms. Tasca, a dual Italian and US citizen, moved to the US in the 1970s after living in many parts of Europe. She went on to receive her undergraduate degree in marketing from NYU Stern in 1988, while also working for Citibank. She later continued her studies at NYU Stern and pursued a master’s degree in international relations. She currently lives in Rome and works alongside her sister to lead their family’s real estate business, Edilizia Rosazza SRL.
