Meet the presidents of IE Business School's UK alumni club! We caught up with them last month to find out how their club works and about their exciting event, Bar of the Month.

Nicolo Carpaneda is an Investment Specialist in the Retail Fixed Income business at M&G Investments; Adrian Calvo-Valderrama is a Business Partner at London Borough of Camden and Ramiro de la Rosa is Global Vendor Manager at Marsh Global Risk management Group.

What is the main aim of the IE UK Alumni Club?
The IE UK Alumni club is here to facilitate three key activities. The first is networking, to share contacts, work and life experiences in London and the UK. The second is continuous development, organizing lectures and dinners with key executives to learn and stay updated. Finally the IE UK Alumni Club hopes to share placement opportunities and facilitate job rotations.

What is the main event that you have to keep the club members connected?
BOTM, the Bar Of The Month. A networking event around town, once a month, where alumni can catch up and share news from the markets.

What benefits do the alumni get from being members of the club?
The IE UK Alumni Club enriches their network, diversifies their social life, arranges meetings with key executives from different industries, and means they can explore new and unexpected career opportunities.

How many members are there in your club?
300, of which around 160 are active members.

Who is your most successful alum in the IE UK Alumni Club?
It is very difficult to measure success: is it money? Seniority? Or happiness perhaps? We believe in happiness and we do not have a ranking for it.
