McKinsey Leads MBA Recruitment At Top-Ranked Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad

Big three consulting firm, McKinsey & Company, was the leading recruiter of MBA grads from top-ranked IIM Ahmedabad in the school’s latest round of placements

Big three consulting firm, McKinsey & Company, was the top recruiter of MBA graduates from Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA)—one of India’s top-ranked b-schools—during the class of 2023’s latest round of MBA placements. 

A total of 18 students on the school’s MBA-equivalent Post Graduate Program in Management landed roles at McKinsey. Fellow MBB firm, Boston Consulting Group was the second largest recruiter from the cohort, while Bain & Company also hired IIMA students. 

Recruiters from the IIM Ahmedabad class of 2023 consisted of companies in five groups: management consulting; niche consulting; investment banking and markets; venture capital and asset management; and cards, financial advisory, and private equity.

Alongside the big three firms, top boutique consultancies such as Oliver Wyman, Kearney, and Arthur D Little were among the recruiters in the consulting group. They were joined by consulting divisions of the big four accounting and professional services firms, Monitor Deloitte, PwC, and KPMG. 

Among the investment banking group, recruiters included the likes of Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse, Standard Chartered, and HSBC. Morgan Stanley (Real Estate), Premji Invest, Pinpoint, and A91 Partners comprised the private equity and venture capital group. American Express also hired students within financial advisory. 

IIM Ahmedabad was recently ranked the second best business school in India and the 51st MBA program globally, in the Financial Times Global MBA Ranking for 2023.
