Bourgeon said he wanted make broader connections internationally, so that he could later go into the consulting or pharmaceutical industry. IE, which caught Bourgeon’s attention because of its high ranking (number 11 by The Financial Times in 2013), ended up being the perfect place to do so!
During his intensive 13 months at IE, Bourgeon got involved as President of the IE Strategy Club, as an Officer of the France Club and a representative of his section. Now, after just finishing up his student involvement and final IE classes, Bourgeon is looking for opportunities both in Europe and also in Brazil, where he has previous post-doctoral work experience.
Since his wife is Brazilian, Bourgeon said “it’s definitely a possibility” that he relocates to Brazil and that it will likely be “much easier to find a job in Brazil” than in Europe. Brazil, which has the world’s sixth largest economy (bigger than the economy of the UK!) has a rapidly changing atmosphere, Bourgeon said, especially with the 2014 World Cup approaching.
No matter which country or city Bourgeon ends up after IE, he said he is glad he made the decision to further his studies at IE because of the international connections he made and the diversity of each MBA class: “no other school in the world has so much diversity in terms of origins and backgrounds,” Bourgeon said.
