Cranfield launches a new Masters program in Global Product Development and Management this autumn.

The MSc aims to produce “business leaders able to respond to the challenges and demands of modern globalised markets.”

Combining theory with practical input students can take advantage of Cranfield’s extensive links with the business industry.

"As a research intensive university, much of our income is generated through working with company partners, which means our courses are continually updated to meet the requirements of employers," says Dr Jörn Mehnen, course director for the program.

"Many of our partners are involved in our postgraduate courses, either by inputting into course content, or through sponsoring students and providing real projects for practical group and individual project work.”

The degree has been designed for mid-career professionals and “ambitious” international students wishing to give their career prospects in the global market a boost. The program lasts a year full time with a part-time option available and candidates must have or expect to gain a 1st or 2nd class honours.

Students will be taught modules such as enterprise systems and general management by lecturers from internationally renowned universities including KAIST in South Korea, Stanford, NUS in Singapore and TU in Berlin through a ‘virtual environment.’

Cranfield’s learning-by-doing approach will take students through the various stages of product development while working on group and individual projects. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in a project that culminates in a prototype fit for industrial use.

“This course has been developed to meet a growing need in industry for global thinkers, who can apply their knowledge of global markets to effectively manage cross-border teams and develop internationally competitive products and services," says Dr Mehnen.

The MSc has been developed in partnership with Factura Executive Search, a senior executive recruitment agency.

The application process for full and part-time entry for October 2010 is now open.
