The AGSM MBA

The AGSM Full-Time MBA has been running for 30 years and was the first MBA course in Australia to be internationally accredited by AACSB.

CurriculumThe AGSM MBA course runs over 16 months, split into 2 stages.

  • Stage 1 involves nine core courses to give all students a solid grounding in the basics of business and strategy. These nine courses are: Accounting; Data Analysis & decision making under uncertainty; Economics; Finance; Marketing Management; Operations Management; Organizational behavior and Strategy.
  • Stage 2 is where you choose to specialize, through 7 elective courses which you can select from a list of over 35. This stage also includes the option for you to go and study abroad on exchange at one of the 27 elite institutions that AGSM is partnered with.

Future

Using the selective electives to gain detailed experience and knowledge in specific areas, AGSM students typically then go into these types of career following their graduation: Finance, Accounting, VC, Marketing, Sales, Consulting, Strategy. AGSM graduates usually pay back the cost of their MBA within 3 years of graduation.

International Exchange Program

AGSM MBA Programs' relationship with many of the world’s leading business schools is testimony to our standing in the international community. This is reflected in the depth of our incoming and outgoing exchange programs with leading schools from Asia, Canada, Europe, UK and the USA. We currently have exchange partnerships with 27 elite international business schools.

As an AGSM MBA Program student you have the opportunity to go on exchange during the elective phase of your program. Students who go on exchange have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in a different cultural context, research overseas work environments and build a global network of friends and contacts. Exchange also provides increased learning opportunities by enabling students to target business schools with a reputation for excellence in a particular area.

International Business Strategy in Asia (IBSA) is an exciting new management elective subject and a great opportunity for AGSM MBA students to travel and bond with their cohort plus have a strong strategic management study experience. Admissions Dates & Essay Questions

Admission Deadlines

Admission to the AGSM MBA will be determined over three rounds in the later part of the year. The selection committee makes final decisions on complete applications within four weeks of submission. Full list of dates for 2012 can be found here.
