5 Of The Best US Business Schools For African-American MBAs

Only 8% of US-origin GMAT examinees in 2016 were African-American. These US schools are fighting back against racial inequality in the business sphere

A 2016 report by the Graduate Management Admissions Council (GMAC) compounded the realization that African-American MBAs are severely underrepresented at business schools across the US.

Of all US-origin GMAT examinees in that year, only 8% were African-American. The knock-on effect of that is that industry suffers further down the pipeline—a trickle of African-American MBA graduates account for just 3% of executive and senior-level positions within private industry.

However, in response to this issue, a number of organizations, institutions, and individuals have committed to working against this widely-recognized uniformity in business schools, and the marketplace that absorbs the MBAs they produce.
